Athletic Training Room
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Treat all Sports Medicine Staff with respect.
- Ask permission before using supplies and equipment.
- Foods, soft drinks, and tobacco products inside the Athletic Training Room are strictly prohibited. Water is the only beverage allowed.
- NO cleats, spikes or shoes covered in mud or grass will be allowed in the Athletic Training Room.
- SHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE TRATEMENT TABLES.
- Leave all sports equipment and personal items in your locker. BE ADVISED, ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS BROUGHT TO THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM.
- All athletes receiving care must be properly clothed. Minimum Dress Attire: Gym Shorts for men; Top and gym shorts for women.
- Be aware that the Los Angeles City College Athletic Training Room is a Coed Facility.
- Do not enter Athletic Trainer’s office without staff consent.
SERVICE POLICY
- If the Athletic Training Room is busy, then in-season student athletes will take precedence over off-season athletes.
- All student athletes who have completed a pre participation physical exam with in the current academic year may receive athletic training services during his/her sports season.
- Only student athletes receiving care will be allowed in the Athletic Training Room. THE ATHLETIC TRAINING FACILITY IS NOT A SOCIAL LOUNGE OR SLEEPING AREA!
- No student athlete will receive athletic training services during their off-season unless:
- He/she has a documented athletic injury suffered prior to the end of their most recent official athletic season.
- Is enrolled in an athletic course at Los Angeles City College.
- All athletes who feel that taping is necessary will be subject to a prophylactic strengthening program prior to each taping session.
- The athletic trainer must evaluate all athlete injuries prior to seeing the team physician. After an evaluation is complete, and is deemed necessary the athlete will be given an appointment date and time to see a team physician.
- Due to the high volume of athletes needing care, please be properly dressed when arriving at the Athletic Training Room. You will not be allowed to change in the Athletic Training Room.
- All Athletic Trainer assisted treatments will cease 30 minutes prior to the start of practice or departure of away games and 45 minutes prior to start of all home games. (schedule is subject to change at the athletic training staff’s discretion)
- Please be in the athletic training room no later than 15 minutes after practice concludes for post practice treatment.
- Please clean up before post practice treatment.
TAPING POLICY
- Taping in Athletic Training Room will stop 30 minutes prior to the start of practice or departure of away games and 1 hour prior to the start of home games. No athletes will be taped after that time. Certain arrangements may be honored after communication between the coaching staff and athletic training staff. (Schedule is subject to change at the Athletic training staff discretion).
- All athletes must depart the athletic training Room 20 minutes before practice or departure of away games and 1 hour before home games.
ATTENTION: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE PROCEDURES MAY RESULT IN REVOCATION OF PRIVILAGES AND DISIPLINARY ACTION PER THE LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE “STANDARDS OF STUDENT CONDUCT.”
